The horror series tells the story of a group of high school teenagers who were trapped inside their school when a nearby chemical plant explodes as they struggle to survive against mutants.

The season one of the series premiered on October 10, , featuring stars like Leo Howard as Grover Jones a high school student who becomes a survivor at the high school after attending detention so that he can spend time with his crush, Violet Adams and Liza Koshy as Violet Adams: a high school student who becomes a survivor in the school after getting detention for her lack of patience and tendency to lash out.

The alarm on his suit goes off after exiting to the outside, attracting freaks that kill him. Diesel and Natalie share one last moment with each other before she sacrifices herself in order to save the others when they are about to lose against the freaks that have suddenly escaped the shelter.

Diesel and the other remaining four survivors are left in grief. Afterwards, it is shown that Grover had uncovered a photo of himself from Collins' bag which labeled him as a retrieval target.

In the final scene, Lashawn, whom they all thought was dead, turns out has survived and returns, informing Zoe and Barrett that he had no choice but to lead new survivors to the school.

When Zoe and Barrett discovers that Lashawn is still alive and has arrived back to the high school, they also discover that Lashawn didn't come back alone, but instead he returned with more people who wants to kill the remaining 6 witnesses.

Zoe reveals to Lashawn that Natalie died and Barrett warns the others of the events that's happening. Zoe who warns Diesel, who is on the floor grieving over the loss of Natalie returns to the group.

As, the reinforces enter the building, the students have no other choice, but to hide out. Lashawn gives up himself up to one of the reinforces who takes him to another room and tortures him, until he gives up his friends location.

Grover, Barrett, and Diesel decides to go out to retrieve Barrett's radio to call for help. Grover is then seen by one of the reinforces, Grover then shows him a picture, In which the reinforce is then killed by Diesel.

The reinforce then lures out Lashawn, then breaks his leg, so he can't run from the freaks. He is then rescued by Diesel, Barrett, and Grover.

The rest of the reinforce leave the school believing that Lashawn is dead and no other people are in the school.

Diesel then confronts Grover on the picture that Grover showed the reinforce. Lashawn then wakes up to Zoe knowing that his leg is broken.

Grover and Violet are seen walking through the hallways, Until the screen turns to the outside and sees a man walking through the chemical storm without a mask.

Barrett questions Leshawn about what was happening outside the school and Leshawn reveals whats really happening at Keller. With no antibiotics in the school, Grover looks outside the school but when his path back becomes blocked with freaks, he must venture further than planned.

Back at the school Leshawns health deteriorates and Diesel and Barrett become suspicious of the freaks strange behaviour as they surround the school.

Grover finds antibiotics but before he can return to the school he meets another group of survivors and allows them to come with him.

Barrett figures out that its Leshawns injury that is attracting the freaks to the school while Violet and Diesel struggle to secure the building.

Leshawn asks Barrett to help him save the others. Grover returns to the school with the other survivors but the original group quickly grows suspicious of the newcomers.

It is revealed that Violet has a troubled history with one of the survivors Zaine which causes issues between her and Grover. As certain people clash with the newcomers, the original group divides into those who want to help them and those who want them to leave.

Diesel becomes increasingly suspicious of siblings Anka and Ollie who seem to have an agenda of their own. The two groups finally come to an agreement on how they can begin to trust each other.

One of the newcomers has an unfortunate run in with an intruder in the school. The group becomes more suspicious of Anka and Ollie which leads to Violet volunteering to try and get information out of Zaine.

Anka makes Zoe question Barrett's involvement in Leshawn's death. Zoe confronts Barrett about Leshawns death but is placated when he tells her that Leshawn died peacefully.

When Grover finds the weapons missing, the two groups become enemies again leading the original group to keep Sadie, Zaine, Anka and Ollie locked up.

Felicity finds one of the survivors dead and Diesel finds out about the intruder. Anka and Ollie reveal that they have a way to save the survivors.

Anka and Ollie try to convince the others to trust them and Zoe becomes more suspicious of Barrett when he tells varying accounts of Leshawns death.

Violet and Grover clash over the morality of Barrett's actions. Zoe makes a plan with the newcomers to trust Anka and Ollie escape plan. The others plan to leave the school before more outsiders arrive but Diesel faces a problem with leaving.

The newcomers struggle to find an escape route that avoids the freaks and soon become trapped by them after their escape plan fails, only escaping after a member of the group sacrifices themselves.

The group turns on Grover, including Violet. With everyone still against him, Grover plans to leave the school and Barrett decides to join him as he still does not trust the Kellers.

Violet and Zaine begin to reconnect and Zoe turns to Anka when the others reject her for siding with the newcomers. Outside, Grover and Barrett try to make it out of the contaminated zone but get stranded and attacked by freaks.

In the school, tensions rise and alliances shift as the remaining survivors wait for help to arrive. After clashing with Anka, Ollie decides to betray the other survivors and plans to leave on his own.

The intruder is shown to be part of a larger group of survivors, some of whom were experimented on at Keller. Tensions are still high in the aftermath of Ollie betrayal and Anka finds herself with no allies.

Zaine tries to make amends between Violet and Zoe. Outside, Grover and Barrett find all the town exits blocked. Sadie and Diesel begin to connect as the group scramble to come up with a new escape plan.

Grover and Barrett visit their homes to find Grovers destroyed and Barretts surprisingly untouched. A misunderstanding at the school leads to tensions rising between Zaine and Violet once more.

Back with the new group of outsiders, relationships are strained causing tension within the group. Barrett explains to Grover his reasons behind his plan to expose Keller Chemical.

Grover finds out that his father could have been more involved in Kellers experiments. They discover that one of Barrett's neighbours survived the blast and she provides them with shelter.

However they get caught up in a difficult situation when she goes to extremes to save her brother. The outsiders arrive at the school injuring one of the remaining group.

It is suggested that they leave without the protection of a gas mask, and they all agree to take the risk. As they pack up supplies, they all start to joke about what they would want to happen if they died.

After they have all packed their supplies, Diesel heads back into the lobby, where Natalie is sitting on the couch looking out the glass doors.

She agrees to let him sit and he apologizes about running away from her earlier. She tells him that she misread the situation, but he tells her she didn't misread anything, he left because he didn't think she would want to be with someone like him, and that if the Chemical Plant hadn't exploded then she wouldn't be anywhere near him.

She tells him that they wouldn't have been talking if they weren't stuck in their situation, but that the only reason why was because she wouldn't have gotten the chance to get to know him.

She says that none of that matters though, because they did get the chance to get to know one another. As she gets up to leave Diesel pulls her back down and kisses her, they are too distracted to notice the light from outside until John Collins knocks on the glass door.

The two break apart shocked at the appearance of another human being. The two of them become excited at the word rescue, and Collins asks to be let inside.

With the rest of the group now gathered around John Collins in the lobby they all begin to ask him questions. He tells them that they are leaving in five minutes and that they have to hurry and gather their things.

John Collins tells them that some of the Valley was able to evacuate and that they have created a new vaccine to fight the chemicals in the air. He tells them that he has a vaccine that will let them breathe the air outside without getting sick.

While they're asking questions he gets a call on his radio and he tells them that the plan changed and they now have a half hour to get ready.

Diesel calls Natalie, Grover and Violet into the auditorium and shows them a bottle of wine that he found in the props box. Grover toasts to being almost out of the school and Diesel opens the bottle and takes a drink.

He frowns and says he thinks it's apple juice, Grover tries it and agrees, and they all laugh. While drinking the apple juice Natalie asks Violet what she's going to do when they get out of the school.

They both agree that they'll find their families. Diesel says that he'll find Lyle's parents and Natalie hugs him. Grover and Violet go for a walk leaving Natalie and Diesel sitting together in the auditorium.

Natalie comes out of the bathroom and hears Barrett taking a computer apart in the next room. She accuses him of stealing but all he says is he's too busy to talk.

She looks onto the computer and is shocked to see that he's deleting files labeled "Keller Chemical Security".

He puts himself between her and the computer saying that it is not for her to see, and it's not what she thinks. He tries to bribe her to keep it quiet, but she leaves quickly saying she's going to tell the others.

Natalie and Diesel sit together on the couch in the foyer, and she remarks that it has been a long week. Diesel says that it'll be over soon, then clarifies he doesn't mean the two of them, he means the situation.

She asks what he thinks will happen to them, and he says that he isn't perfect but that they fit together. They talk about adjusting back to regular life after all that has happened and Diesel says that he likes being there with her.

She smiles and turns to look at him and they are interrupted by Zoe, who came to tell them that Collins wants to talk. Natalie, Diesel, Violet, and Zoe are all together when Collins comes into the room, he tells them that Barrett is wanted by the FBI, for stealing information related to Keller Chemical.

They ask if Barrett had something to do with the accident and Collins says that it's likely. He then shows them that one of the "vaccines" is missing, and they all jump to the conclusion that he's taken one and is running.

He tells them to stay in the room while he goes to find Barrett. When they're still waiting twenty minutes later, Violet asks where Grover is, and Natalie says the better question is where's Barrett.

They talk about what Barrett has done, and all but Zoe believe that Barrett would be capable. Natalie tells Zoe that she has a blindspot for people sometimes, and that Barrett has no good in him.

When Collins comes back he has everyone roll up their sleeves When Violet says she should look for Grover, Collins says that he's in the bathroom and should be back soon.

He then asks who's first and Natalie volunteers. He asks if she's ready, tells her it'll be just a pinch, and injects her with the "vaccine".

Prey Collins goes to inject Zoe next, but is knocked out by Grover, he tells them that it's not a vaccine it's a poison, and that Collins is here to kill them.

They all look to Natalie's arm as the information sinks in. They tie John Collins to one of the posts in the hallway, Barrett explaining his test on Mr.

Collins keeps insisting that it's a vaccine until Diesel suggests that if it's just a vaccine, Collins wouldn't mind being injected with it.

He stops him from injecting it and they all realize that Natalie has been injected with poison. Collins insists that he can help her, but they know they can't trust him.

Collins says that Natalie's dying and Diesel says that she wont be dying alone, and injects Collins with the poison. Natalie and Zoe go for a walk and Zoe keeps asking how she is.

Natalie gets irritated and says that she feels fine now and that maybe Barrett was wrong, Zoe says that Barrett isn't usually wrong and Natalie asks if she's trying to make her feel bad.

Zoe says that she's just worried, Natalie is too and they hug. The group all gather and take of Diesel's bullet wound, Natalie is relieved that it didn't hit anything crucial.

Diesel asks how Natalie's feeling and she tells him she's fine. They say he's lucky to be alive and he says he doesn't feel lucky. They say that they're sitting ducks all together in one classroom so Barrett says that he'll hide the suit and everyone else should divide up and lie low.

Zoe and Natalie stay in the room with Diesel, Natalie asks how he is and he says it's not him that he's worried about.

Zoe tells them to be quiet and keeps watch at the doors. When Zoe looks back over, Natalie's nose is bleeding and they all share a scared look.

Natalie and Diesel sit together holding hands and Zoe asks if she can do anything for her, Natalie says that she's thirsty and Zoe heads out to get her water.

Diesel tells her to be careful and then tells Natalie he thinks that Zoe's more worried than she is. Natalie says that Zoe just doesn't want to be left behind and Diesel replies that none of them do.

Natalie tears up saying that she doesn't want to leave him, she says that it's cruel that the world would give them to each other just for it to be taken away.

Diesel tells her that maybe they haven't had a long time together but the time they shared was real and honest, and they hug.

Diesel and Natalie sit together holding hands as she gets sicker, Natalie talks about how when she was little she would cry at the end of books, because you get to know the characters inside and out, and then it's just over.

He replies that if the story is good, it sticks with you forever. She says that he's done so much for her, and he says that he wishes he could've done more.

She tells him that even with everything that was going on she felt lucky to be with him, he says that he felt the same, and they kiss.

The others come running into the room and Diesel helps them hold the door, but the 'Freaks' start breaking through. Natalie pulls the crutch from where its blocking the other door and opens it going into the hallway, she uses the crutch to bang against the wall to get the 'Freaks' attention.

They chase her into the science wing and the other come running after them. They all stop when they see Natalie get taken down and ripped apart.

Grover pulls Diesel back and they close off the doors to the science wing. Zoe Parker Natalie and Zoe were best friends all their lives until one night when they were out, they got caught with alcohol and Natalie abandoned Zoe, leaving her to take all the blame, since she thought Zoe's parents wouldn't care as much as her own would.

After this Zoe stopped speaking to her. After the Keller Chemical Plant explosion, Zoe doesn't want to listen to Natalie when she says that everyone should stay inside the school, but LaShawn and Barrett convince her to stay.

The two argue a lot in the initial days after the explosion but after Natalie apologizes to her, they begin to mend their friendship, becoming loving best friends again, up until Natalie's death.

She bossed Addy around a lot but she didn't seem to mind the overbearing friend, knowing that it was just because she cared about her.

On the day of the explosion Addy was at the school helping Natalie prepare for her campaign for class president.

When Natalie tells Addy not to leave the school she hugs her but doesn't listen to her. When Addy shows back up at the school, Natalie takes care of her until her death.

Winds of Change Natalie comes bursting into the fallout shelter with Addy, who appears to express the same symptoms as Lyle from going outside.

When everyone else is in the shelter Diesel Turner finds Natalie in one of the classrooms, looking out the window. Neither of them have been entirely honest with their answers and both realize that, yet neither push on the subject.

He tells her to get some rest and she snaps at him that she knows when she needs to rest and leaves him in the classroom alone.

After they all go back to the couches to get some more sleep, Natalie ends up sharing a couch with Violet. She laughs when Violet gives a disgusted look at LaShawn and Zoe who are snuggled up on one of the couches together.

They have a joking conversation about public cuddling and the topic switches to Violets ex-boyfriend, and gradually to whether Natalie has a boyfriend.

The next morning, Natalie runs into Zoe in the bathroom. They get into an argument about a time in the past when they used to be friends.

Zoe blames Natalie for ditching her to take the fall and Natalie tries to get Zoe to see her side of it. It ends up being pointless to try to continue the conversation and Natalie storms out of the bathroom.

When Grover and Mary come back up from the fallout shelter to spread the news of what happened to Coach, Natalie is distraught at the thought of Addy turning into one of the monsters that Grover and Mary described.

She insists that Addy would never do anything like that and that she needed to see it for herself. Grover, luckily stops her before she does anything stupid, and the group starts to discuss the best course of action.

Secrets Natalie comes to the music room to find Mary, who was hiding out there, so that she could help her with the food inventory.

When they finish Mary says that they have 53 cans each, but Natalie tells her that her count is off and they actually have 51 cans each.

Mary asks if there is anymore of the soup that Natalie had earlier and Natalie gives her a weird look, saying that that was 5 hours ago, how could she tell?

The next time Natalie is seen she is at her locker. He sneaks up to her and finds that Natalie has hidden away more than 10 cans in her locker — the amount she had told Mary that she had counted wrong.

Diesel starts to pull them all out of her locker and Natalie tells him to stop — she has a good reason; she has a doctor prescribed calorie intake.

Natalie finally admits that she is 8 months pregnant. At that he closes the locker, tells her that they all have secrets, and walks away. At the next group meeting Natalie gives them the food inventory, and tells them that they have enough to last nearly two weeks.

When she leaves Noodle Nelson makes a joke about Mary being high and Natalie says that she was just about to say the same. The group agrees that they should keep an eye on Mary.

After Grover straps Mary down in one of the classrooms the group discusses their options. At dinner, the group is still discussing the Mary situation, and why Grover would keep it from them.

Then, one by one, they get up from the cafeteria table and go in separate directions. When they are all headed to bed Natalie is seen crying on one of the couches.

LaShawn comes over to comfort her and she talks about how she feels that she let Addy down. LaShawn listens to her then tells her to stop thinking negatively, and to get some rest, then goes over to his and Zoe's couch to get some sleep as well.

Trapped Natalie is seen in the bathroom by herself recording her message to her family because her phone battery is almost out.

She gives sentimental goodbyes and tells them of her pregnancy. When Diesel is handing out weapons for the group to defend themselves against Mary, he hands Natalie a large butchers knife, and she gives it a weird look.

Barrett pair Natalie and Diesel together to search the second floor, and Diesel nods his head at her to follow him.

Natalie, clearly stressed about the fact that they are looking for a 'Freak' when she has a baby inside of her making her a sitting duck, rants to Diesel, calling herself "a walking happy meal", clearly seeing that she would be a tasty treat for the 'Freaks'.

Diesel, to get her to relax, asks her why she had called the baby a mistake earlier at her locker. She explains that having the baby wasn't the mistake, making it was.

Diesel then asks who the father is, and when she doesn't answer, asks whether she even knows who the father is. This line of questioning seems to bother her and she replies that she isn't a slut, of course she knows.

To that Diesel asks what the father thought about the baby, and she tells him that the father doesn't know, then she asks why he's asking all of this.

He replies by locking her in the closet he had just opened. He apologizes, and when she tells him to let her out he says that she had been right, she needs to be safe.

He leaves her there, and she continues to yell at him, even after he leaves the classroom. After Grover traps Mary in a part of the basement the entire group stands outside of the cage as LaShawn and Zoe express that they want to kill her.

As Grover pleads with them that Mary is still inside there somewhere, Natalie looks on in horror, completely shocked at what she's watching.

That night when they are all getting ready to go to sleep, Natalie is tucking a blanket into her couch, with Diesel sitting on the adjacent couch.

She tells him that he didn't have to trick her, she would have preferred he just tell her his plan. He smiles and argues that doing that wouldn't have worked, and then notices how tightly and straight she is tucking in her blanket he tells her that it's pointless, she's about to sleep there.

She asks if he tucks himself in and he replies telling her that he doesn't like to feel trapped, again hinting at claustrophobia.

She says that for her she needs the bed made, to which he counters that she is about to pull up the blanket, and the entire conversation seems to making her extremely frustrated, and she turns to glare at him.

He gives in and leaves, and she pulls up the blanket and gets under it, ready to sleep. Later on, she is woken up by Grover attacking Barrett about the torch that he found next to Mary's cage.

They take a vote on whether Barrett should be allowed to keep studying her or whether she should be left alone, and Natalie votes on behalf of Barrett, that they should keep studying her.

Weakness Natalie comes back to the group surrounding LaShawn unconscious body with ice, and gives it to Zoe. Barrett asks Zoe whether LaShawn has been exposed to the air outside or bitten and she snaps back at him that he isn't turning.

At this, Grover asks what is wrong with him then, and Zoe finally tells the group about LaShawn's diabetes, and that he's run out of insulin. Natalie says that LaShawn's earlier odd behaviour is probably due to hallucinations from lack of insulin, as they can be caused in later stages.

When Violet asks Natalie why she would know this she says she did an anatomy project on diabetes. Diesel asks how long LaShawn only has hours if he stays in this condition.

The group decides to search the school for insulin, determined to find some before LaShawn dies. While everyone splits up to look through the school, Natalie goes into the office to try to make contact with Barrett's homemade radio.

Barrett, nervous that she may find out that he has been in contact with his hacker group, comes into the office to get Natalie off the radio.

He tells her that he is sad to admit that no one seems to be out there and his radio is pretty much useless, and she sets down the speaker.

Natalie hears Zoe and runs into the room LaShawn is lying in to see whats wrong. Zoe is trying to wake LaShawn up, as he seems to have fallen int a coma.

Natalie tells Zoe that this can happen and Zoe interrupts, sobbing, saying that this is what happens near the end.

Natalie comes across Grover sitting in the hallway his sister's locker was in. Grover is sitting against the lockers, throwing paper airplanes.

Natalie leans down and picks up one of Grover's airplanes and brings it back over to him. He explains that Mary liked airplanes and loved to travel, she had wanted a job where she would be travelling a lot.

Natalie indulges in the sentimental conversation, and tells him she's sorry about how things went with Mary. The conversation shifts to their current situation, and they both express their shared hope of a cure.

Once LaShawn has woken up, the group get together to eat in the cafeteria, Violet and Natalie serving. The group laughs about the ingredients of their dinner - cheese and 'chips'.

Diesel brings out the Vodka he found in 'The Unicorn Chick's' locker. The group celebrates and Diesel subtly skips over Natalie when pouring the Vodka into everyones glasses, and LaShawn makes a toast to Barrett, the one who found the insulin that saved his life.

Grover adds another toast to everyone they had lost, Mary, Lyle, Noodle, Addy, and all the others, and they all drink, the mood changed.

Violet then goes to one of the walls and tears down the poster that was on it, they turn the wall into a memorial space and write the names of those they had lost.

Thirst Natalie is seen in the cafeteria with Barrett, LaShawn and Zoe, going through their fluid supply after the water runs out at the school.

The four of them deduct that they have enough for a few days, and LaShawn suggests the toilets. The group gets together to discuss a plan for getting into the fallout shelter for the gas masks, so that they would be able to go outside and look for help.

The group watches as Barrett and Violet argue about who's idea is better, and Violet wins the argument. Natalie and Diesel debate whether Zoe and Violet going through the vents into the science wing is a good plan, while going through the junk in the basement.

Natalie tells Diesel that Zoe will come through, and Diesel is surprised she would come to her defence since they clearly aren't getting along.

Natalie tells him that Zoe is the one that's angry, and Diesel jokes that it must be serious if they can't get along at the end of the world. When Violet and Zoe get back, the rest of the group is waiting, concerned for their safety.

Everyone is relieved when they come back safe and with everything they needed. Natalie comes across Zoe in the lounge area and sits down next to her on the couch.

Natalie tells Zoe that she was worried about her and apologizes for what happened to ruin their friendship. We learn that they had snuck some booze and gone driving, and their car got stuck on a median.

When the cops showed up Natalie abandoned Zoe in the car and Zoe took the fall for everything. Zoe accepts the apology, the two hug and Zoe notices her baby-bump.

Zoe laughs at the idea of Natalie's parents assuming that she's eating too much, and they joke about how strict her mother is. Zoe says that she would freak out if she got pregnant and Natalie admits that she had been in denial for a long time.

Natalie shares her insecurities about the pregnancy and how people generally see her at school, and Zoe comforts her.

Natalie opens up to the rest of the group about her pregnancy, and Diesel pretends that he hadn't known. Knockout Natalie is seen staring out the door windows, into the fog.

Diesel comes over to give her water, and he waves away her refusals. She asks how much he has left and he tells her that's his last bottle.

They see a 'Freak' out the window and Natalie walks away remarking that being locked in the school made them the lucky ones.

After Violet knocks out Barrett and accidentally exposed Diesel to the gas as well, Natalie takes care of Diesel, bringing him water and sitting with him.

Natalie gets upset at Violet for using the gas on Barrett and carelessly dosing Diesel in the process, and LaShawn backs up Violet, saying that she only meant to get Barrett.

Natalie tells her that losing her temper was risky and Diesel didn't need to be involved, and Violet leaves the room angrily.

While Barrett is out Natalie takes control of the radio, sending out distress signals to whoever may hear it. Zoe asks how it's going and Natalie tells her that she's only getting static, whoever Barrett was talking to isn't answering.

Zoe tells Natalie about LaShawn not allowing her to go into the fallout shelter with the others and they talk about their relationship.

Zoe and Natalie are interrupted when Diesel comes into the office to let them know that Barrett is moving. They realize that the 'Freaks' are going to start waking up soon, and Natalie runs to the basement to warn them.

She reaches Violet and they yell into the shelter just as the 'Freaks' start to stir. LaShawn makes it out but Grover inhaled some of the gas and got knocked out earlier, they have to close the door with Grover still inside.

The three of them try to think of a plan to get Grover out of the shelter, and they hear him start to yell for help. LaShawn gets the idea to use the spare chairs as shields to push the 'Freaks' back enough and get Grover out, and he and Violet go in together while Natalie stays in the hall.

They successfully get Grover out, unharmed, and he produces a gas mask from under his sweater. The group gets together to celebrate their success in getting the gas masks out from the shelter, and they all laugh at Grover's speech about being stuck in the fallout shelter with the 'Freaks'.

Diesel checks the gas masks and realizes that the only one with a functioning filter is the one Grover got.

Only one of them can leave. Outsiders The group is eating on the school cafeteria, trying to decide who should be one to go outside to find help.

Violet writes all of their names on piece of paper and they will pull the name out of a bowl. Natalie is excluded from the draw because of her pregnancy and because of this is the one to pull the name from the bowl.

She pulls out Diesel, and Barrett asks him to put on the gas mask to see if any adjustments are needed. However, when Diesel puts on the mask he begins to have a panic attack due to claustrophobia.

With this new piece of information the group decides to pick someone else, even though Diesel continues to tell them he can do it. The end result is that LaShawn is the one to go.

Natalie walks into the auditorium to find Diesel sitting on the stage. She tries to tell him that it isn't his fault and that everyone has fears.

She sits down beside him trying to convince him that he does enough for the group that it doesn't matter that he couldn't be the one to go out, and that there isn't anything he can do to change what's happening.

Barrett wakes up, and Natalie tries to warn Violet. They find out Grover got knocked out by the gas, but are too late and are forced to leave him trapped with the now awakened freaks.

Eventually they find a way to run in and save him, and succeed, while Diesel, Barrett, and Zoe fight the freak that escaped through the air vents.

The group celebrates as the others come back with all 7 gas masks and commend Grover, but things take a bad turn when they discover that only one of the masks work.

Natalie helps Diesel through his guilt over not being able to go outside. Violet and Grover struggle to secure the school from freaks.

Outside Leshawn finds resources that could help the survivors but he loses contact with them before he can get back to the school.

Someone new discovers the survivors in the school. He claims to have a way to protect the survivors from turning into freaks if they breathe in the toxic air but Barrett is reluctant to trust the solution.

While they wait to be evacuated, Violet and Grover grow closer. Natalie becomes suspicious that Barrett may have been involved in the explosion and she raises her concerns with the rest of the group.

Barrett shows Grover that the vaccines brought by Collins are actually poison and find themselves captured by Collins before they can warn the others.

In the season finale, things come to a head when John Collins is revealed to be a traitor and Natalie to be dying from the poison. The group becomes aware of shocking secrets behind the chemical plant.

The group attempts to hold Collins hostage but he manages to escape, Diesel is shot in the process but survives.
